"Turn my faucet on. Pour two cups."The Setra smart faucet with voice-activated technology dispenses measured amounts of water at your spoken command. Just say the words to turn the water on, fill containers to a preset level or dispense a specific quantity. In addition to voice control, this touchless faucet has a motion sensor that turns water on and off with a wave of your hand. The faucet works with the KOHLER Konnect app so you can monitor water usage and be notified of unusual flow. Color: Vibrant Stainless.

As far as basic touchless faucet functions go, this is a high-quality faucet with a good motion sensor. As far as a “smart” faucet, it’s not there yet if you have multiple wireless network in your home (see below).
To use the motion-sensor or smart features, you do need a power source under the sink. Whenever you use the motion sensor to turn it off, the next time you turn it on it will be in the same mode (and temperature) as when you turned it off. I typically use the faucet via the motion sensor, with the handle set to the warm position and the sprayer off, so I hardly ever touch the handle (which makes for less mess on the counter!). I do switch to spray mode for handwashing pots and pans, and the Kohler spray pattern is outstanding - the pressure is high enough to scour dirty dishes but it still uses little water to do. Also, the magnetic dock for the pull-down part of the faucet is strong and easily snaps the pull-down piece securely back into place after each use.
I am unable to use the “smart” features because the faucet will not connect to my home wireless network. I have a somewhat spread-out property and need the faucet to connect to a wifi extender rather than the default wireless network (which is spotty). However, the app doesn’t yet allow the capability to select your home wifi - it just offers the first network that pops up (I assume the strongest at that moment, which in my case is not the most reliable). I spent about half an hour trying to find a way to select a different network and then gave up. So for me, this is just a great touchless faucet. I am hoping that Kohler updates the app to allow users to select which wifi network to connect to (you can already select the faucet when you begin, but the next step connects to a wifi network that the user cannot change).
Aesthetically, I was concerned that this might look a little too contemporary for my bungalow kitchen, but I’m relieved that it just looks functional and clean-lined rather than modern (see photos).
A note about the hole size: This faucet replaced another Kohler (which I ended up moving to my prep sink), but because this faucet requires a hole ⅛” larger than my other faucet, I had to expand the hole using a dremel tool. Like most decent faucets, this comes with a matching soap dispenser pump and an escutcheon to cover extra holes. However, since I have only one faucet hole, I didn’t use the escutcheon. Also, I rigged up a length of plastic tubing into a large soap bottle under my sink (much larger than the included soap bottle) so that I only have to refill it every few months. Read Less
Pros: Easy to Install, Looks Great, Strong Water Pressure, great spray, strong and secure docking
Cons: can't change default home wifi network

I’m impressed with this attractive, extra long grab bar and its high-quality stainless steel finish. Once installed, the covers on both ends completely hide the installation screws. This bar would be ideal for any location where you need more length than usual. Most grab bars are 24” or less, while this one is 42”, which is long enough to be able to grab it on both sides of the shower or tub as well as while moving over obstacles (e.g., a shower curb or edge of tub). Although I have used these in other colors in the past, I was disappointed with the dark gold color. The nice thing about this paint pen is the chisel tip. One of the photos shows how you can get a very fine point for smaller writing or drawing, while using the entire fat edge of the pen is about 5/16” wide. Another nice thing is that it was writing well straight out of the box. The drawback is that it wasn’t particularly bright on white paper or on darker paper (see the green beverage sign I made for a party - I ended up deciding that my old black and silver paint pens show up better). Under ideal conditions, my glass jars were totally dry within an hour (but the marker would completely wipe off if touched too early). Read Less
Pros: dries quickly on rough or absorbant surfaces, nice chisel tip, removable tip
Cons: dries slowly on smooth surfaces, not very high contrast - too drab

I got a couple of these 3-ply panels to build curved cubbies for storing hats and gloves in a yurt (a round structure with walls that are vertically straight but horizontally curved). The ⅜” panels do not bend as much as the ¼” panels. The ⅜” panel curved enough for my project, but if you need a tight radius (less than about 18”’), I’d recommend the thinner ¼” panels. Also, the ¼” panel I got was significantly smoother with fewer cracks or imperfections than the ⅜” panel. Regardless of thickness, one side of the panel is smoother than the other and is intended to be the face; the other side of the panel is a bit rougher. As with any woodworking project, sand with a fine-grit paper prior to finishing for best results. For the rougher ⅜” panel, I started with 100 grit and finished with 150 grit. Note that the panel bends a lot in one dimension (so that the grain of the smooth side runs parallel to the axis of the bend, as shown in the photo) and not very much in the other dimension - keep this in mind while planning other components of your project if you want consistent grain dimension. I couldn’t find anywhere that mentioned what type of wood is used for the smooth side - the product brochure just says tropical hardwoods - but it looks like an open-grained hardwood such as birch. Last but not least, the brochure says that these panels contain no formaldehyde. The adhesives are soy-based and should be good for anyone who is either sensitive to off-gassing or is in California and can only buy CARB-approved products. Read Less

I'd recommend getting a new faucet as it would be easier than drilling new 8" holes for your old faucet. If you want an 8" faucet though, you could certainly drill new holes (if you have proper tools and skills) and then get an ecutcheon to cover the old holes.
