We have used Daltile's Continental Slate in our kitchen and three bathrooms, using different color combinations each time (egyptian beige, indian red, brazilian green, and asian black). The tile itself is very good quality, has great texture, is easy to clean, does not stain (even with red wine, vinegar, oil, etc.), has good traction when wet, and is quite impermeable compared to other similar tiles. The downsides of this tile are that 1) the stamped patterns do repeat, so you need to pay attention that you don't place the same identical pattern facing the same direction twice in a row (otherwise it's not noticeable), and 2) the 6x6 tiles are actually 12" tiles that were cut down in the Read More

The tile looks great with lots of other accents too - in various rooms we've used accents of real slate, glass tile, pebble tile, and crackle-glazed Mexican tiles, and they all look beautiful with the Continental Slate. The color variation makes this tile easy to combine with other tiles. Read Less

Does this range have any flanges (or "wings") that cover the gap between the range and the adjacent countertop? I'm looking for a range with no flanges - just a flat edge that abuts the countertop. Thank you for any responses.

          Answer:
I'd recommend getting a new faucet as it would be easier than drilling new 8" holes for your old faucet. If you want an 8" faucet though, you could certainly drill new holes (if you have proper tools and skills) and then get an ecutcheon to cover the old holes.

I use these around my conifers (some newly planted dwarf spruces, others 10+ years old and tall trees), and the plants do great with them. Follow the instructions on the back of the package so that you don't use too many or space them too close together.
