I thought maybe this was a combo vacuum and cleaner that could replace both units, but it definitely is not. It’s designed for cleaning, and cleans both carpet and bare floors. So it says. And it says little else. The manual is severely lacking in information. It tells you how to operate the machine, but not how to USE it.
My first test was on a traffic area of carpet. I used practically the whole “small area” measure of solution trying to clean a 3’x6’ area. The instructions don’t give you any help on how to clean carpet, like whether to dispense solution pushing forward or pulling back, so I went by my experience with my *actual* rug cleaner which was while slowly pulling back, and Read More

And it says little else. The manual is severely lacking in information. It tells you how to operate the machine, but not how to USE it.
My first test was on a traffic area of carpet. I used practically the whole “small area” measure of solution trying to clean a 3’x6’ area. The instructions don’t give you any help on how to clean carpet, like whether to dispense solution pushing forward or pulling back, so I went by my experience with my *actual* rug cleaner which was while slowly pulling back, and then going over the area a couple times to extract it. When that didn’t work, I tried using it going forward, going both ways, and no matter what the dirt is largely still there. It’s probably better for new spills and light duty. Grade: D
Next I tried it in the kitchen where the cats’ bowls are, etc. It worked very well here, vacuuming up spilled food and cleaning the floor. But again I was stymied about how to use it and what I should be expecting it to do. Does the brush stay damp like a mop? Do you spray going forward or pulling back? I found it will stay damp for one or two passes, but you have to use the solution a lot. And you want to spray it pulling back because it will be squeegeed up too quickly to be effective… because the brush doesn’t stay damp. I discovered the best method was vacuum the space, spray pulling back, then three strokes around the immediate area, move and repeat. It was really good at stuck stuff. You could spray it and get it up pretty easily with a few short strokes. Grade: B+
The really neat thing was… you know those gross, wet lines of dust and fur and heaven knows what else? While this might create them, it will also clean them up. Just go over it a few times and it will get sucked up. You don’t have to touch it. Okay, maybe a little if it’s not dropping out when you empty and rinse the tank, but definitely better.
After the cat food test came the cat litter test. This is a difficult area because you can vacuum up the litter, but the dust remains, and you *know* it was used litter, so you want to mop the area. This pretty much does the whole job. Since both litter boxes are on tile with a mat under them (which doesn’t do ANYTHING for the issue), I vacuumed and then and mopped. It worked pretty well, even in the grout lines which I didn’t really expect. The issues arose when I encountered more cat litter after the machine was wet. It did pick it up and everything, but it left a haze after it dried. All I can say is you have to thoroughly vacuum the area before cleaning, which kind of defeats the purpose of this machine to both vacuum and clean. Grade: B
I had emptied and rinsed the tank after doing each area to gauge how well it worked. The areas with the kitty litter was the last of the day, so I used the cleaning tray to rinse the unit per the directions. When I took the brush cover off to remove the brush for drying and rinse the cover off, I found that the litter has clumped behind the squeegee and in a couple of other spots and I had to scrape it out. Maybe that’s what left the haze on the floor like wet chalk, but this machine is promoted as good for pets. Maybe it’s just good for dogs, because three-quarters of the cleaning up after cats is the litter, and after all was said and done this doesn’t appear to do all that well after all.
But if you aren’t chasing after pets with it, you probably don’t care. :)
The machine itself has two side lights, with little blue lights that come on when the solution is triggered (mentioned nowhere in the materials). These are handy, but I would have liked one in the center so I can more easily see where the solution is spraying. It’s difficult to see, and it took me a while to determine it sprays no wider than the clear window around the brush, and no more than about 2 inches ahead. You store the unit on the rinse tray after each use, but battery goes on a separate charger that is not part of the unit. Pros and cons with that. Who has an outlet in the closet to plug in the machine to charge? But then you have to get the charger out. But it is very freeing to be able to grab the machine and clean here and there around the house without having to plug and unplug and keep moving the cord.
In the end, this is best suited for quick cleaning or emergency clean up. It’s not going to replace any tool you already have in your arsenal if you actually LIVE in your house. I’m keeping my steam cleaner, vacuum cleaner, and steam mop. I'm not sure where the "professional" part comes in. Read Less

I order online a LOT, but having a tool dedicated to opening boxes seemed a little silly. But I started thinking about the fact that I have fouled a number of perfectly good blades in my utility knife with sticky, gummy tape residue that maybe this was a good idea. According to the package it has a high hardness rating to maintain sharpness, and doesn't corrode so you can CAREFULLY clean off any residue. That takes care of the taped boxes, but what about the glued ones? Well, I didn't think it could possibly slice through cardboard, but by golly, it can! The mountains of Afghanistan are not exactly equipped with state of the art plumbing, so a cold shower to escape the dirt, grime, and oppressive heat was never an option. Such was the inspiration behind Cold Shower Cooling Field Towels. Developed in concert with our military advisory panel, these face and body towels are manufactured with menthol, aloe, and jojoba to provide a chilling blast as they cleanse and protect. The perfect way to cool down and recover after 12-hour shifts, covert field missions, or back alley boxing matches. This is a multi-pack pouch that contains 15 individually wrapped units. INGREDIENTS: Water, Glycerin, Propylene Glycol, Cyclopentasiloxane, Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Extract, Chamomilla Recutita (Matricaria) Flower Extract, Cucumis Sativus (Cucumber) Fruit Extract, Althaea Officinalis Root Extract, Avena Sativa (Oat) Kernel Extract, Menthol, Hydrolyzed Jojoba Esters, Sucrose Cocoate, Tocopheryl Acetate, Xanthan Gum, Lactic Acid, Tetrasodium Glutamate Diacetate, Caprylyl Glycol, Ethylhexyl glycerin, Hexylene Glycol, Phenoxyethanol, Fragrance.

I got these to put in my go-bags, but had to try them first because I'd hate to be in an emergency when I find out they aren't what I hoped. They actually aren't what I hoped, but they're pretty close. I was outside hunting tomato worms and sweating like crazy, so when I came back in (only found three) I decided to wipe the sweat off my face, etc., with one of these instead of grabbing a paper towel.
If you're just going to wipe your face and neck it's okay, about the size of a premium diaper wipe. But when the package talks about shower facilities you rather expect them to be bigger, at least the size of a paper towel. It's also not very wet, so you can't cover a huge area--JUST face Read More

The cooling sensation created by the menthol is nice, as is the dual sided texture of the surprisingly durable cloth. One side is kind of smooth, and the other side has little nubs so you can scrub if you have to. I tried to take a picture, but I'm not sure how well it shows.
After it dried I felt a little bit sticky, but after a little bit longer my skin feels smooth and not overly dry. These will be a good addition to my go-bags with a couple tossed in my glove box now that I know what to expect. Read Less

My over-the-range microwave went out, and while I argued the matter with home warranty company, I needed one. I tried to return to old school cooking, but it’s almost impossible nowadays. So I got this countertop one. This thing is a beast! It’s huge! It barely fits on a standard depth counter. It’s hard to take out your food to stir it and put it back, that’s how big. The pictures below illustrate the difference between a 1.5 c.f. unit and this one. The glass tray doesn’t even fit in the dishwasher. I did find the height of it pretty cool when I was steaming spinach. You need a large bowl in the beginning.

Aside from that, it’s pretty sweet. I had to re-learn to cook/reheat my favorite foods. My old micro was 900 watts and this one is 1250 watts. Microwave instructions on most foods these days max out at 1100 watts, so you have to pay attention. The features are great. I’m a little disappointed that the 30 second button doesn’t start up the oven automatically, but you can “stack” hitting it to add before or during cooking. You can also stack cooking and standing time, and set different cooking power levels. Adjusting the levels is a little annoying. My old oven you pressed the power level button and then the number on the pad for the level you wanted. On this unit you have to press the power level multiple times to scroll through the options. My biggest complaints would be that the buttons are hard to read and would do better if they were more white, or the lettering more bold, or maybe backlit when you start pressing them. And the small LED interior light is much too dim for my taste. You can barely see what your food is up to in there.
One of the things really do like is the defrost and reheat feature which, I guess, is the inverter aspect of the unit. In most ovens, when you choose a lower power level, the power output isn’t adjusted, just the cycling of power on and off. This unit actually does appear to reduce the power output so that when you want to defrost or reheat it’s a slower, gentler heating. The presets are useful, especially being able to adjust them with “more” or “less” buttons. There are more complex settings you can use that baffled me initially, but now I can do without thinking. It’s a worthwhile endeavor to read the whole manual.
I’m trying not to get attached to it because I will need to replace the over-the-range one and free my counter up again at some point, but I already have checked with the food pantry at the local Episcopal church that serves lunch every day and they will gladly accept it. THEY can certainly make use of a beast this size. Read Less

The bottle indicates you can apply this to grout, but how it that done? Will it wipe off ceramic tile, or do you have to cover the entire surface just to cover the grout? That seems wasteful. Can you brush it on the grout lines?

Fix your cracked and leaky, chipped or unattractive shower pan with the NuTub 24 in. W x 24 in. L Shower Floor Repair Inlay Kit. A cracked, leaky shower isn't just unsightly - it's a liability. Water seeps through the cracks, collecting on the floor below. The result can be structural damage and worse yet, mold. Mold can be a serious health concern. The NuTub 24 in. W x 24 in. L Shower Floor Repair Inlay Kit is a permanent and easy solution designed for a DIY installation. No special tools or skills are required. It takes about an hour to install. The kit includes a flexible inlay, specifically designed to cover cracks and hide damage to the shower pan. The strong waterproof adhesive permanently binds the inlay to your shower floor. When properly installed, the inlay is better than your original shower pan. The NuTub 24 in. W x 24 in. L Shower Floor Repair Inlay Kit will work on most shower pans including fiberglass, acrylic, porcelain, cast iron, pressed steel enamel and plastic. The inlay's built in anti-slip texture also helps prevent serious falls in the shower, which according to the CDC is the biggest cause of accidental injuries in the home.

The cracking is within about 4 inches for the drain, so I don't need the full size, but I don't want it to become ruined if I trim it.

All of my doors are drive in collar, and the handlesets I just replaced had all options included in the box, but I can't tell from the product description if the same it true for the deadbolts.

I was looking at this washer in the store, and notice the agitator fins were really low. Not all the way up the post like my old washer. I was wondering how well it moves around the clothes to get them clean.

          Answer:
It comes with a key that is necessary for programming. The key will operate the lock if the battery dies. I do share your concern about the battery. In my experience, really cold weather might affect it, and there is no information on how often to bring the lock in for charging.

Yes, I managed toast in it. The fan flipped up my my cheap bread, but I was able to work it out. Pop tarts wouldn't be a problem.
