Bought these for an outdoor event where they were placed in a plastic jug as a luminere. It was not windy and they were on a relatively flat surface. They were placed along a long path in our woods so I wasn't able to see how long each candle actually burned, however, at the end of the event when I picked them all up, half of the candles were fizzled out with about 1/2 or 1/3 of the wax still in the tin, unburned. The event lasted 4 hours and about half of them were snuffed out by the time I picked them up after 4-5 hours and they were supposed to be long burning of at least 6-7 hours. Since it was more important for my event that they were lit at the beginning of the party, I didn't care as much that they weren't burning after 4-5 hours, but it certainly did not hold up to its claim to be long burning. Plus they were relatively inexpensive for so many tealights, so if you only need them for a few hours, then they are probably fine. I just don't know how long they actually burned before going out for the half that wasn't lit anymore.
As for the construction, they were exactly as seen on the Home Depot website. They were also neatly packed in a square cardboard box. The wicks do lay flat because of packaging, so you'll have to stand it upright to light. This is not a big deal unless you are quickly lighting 200 lumineres, then it adds to set up time.
I used them within 2 weeks of purchasing, so their poor burn time was not necessarily because of them being too old.
I would say it did not meet my expectations, but I made the best of it! Read Less
