I have had lots of flooding problems over the years and it's always an engineering challenge to try to drain the area. This pump makes it really easy. Because it sucks from the bottom and only needs a shallow level of water to prime this pump should solve most flooding problems.
I ran some tests and it really does suck down the water level to about 1/8". It will put out about 18' of head as advertised. I even attached a spay nozzle to the discharge hose and you get pretty good water pressure.
The pump doesn't make any funny noises or heat up when run dry. It says not to do this for too long, but it doesn't seam to be a problem. If you had a big flood to pump out you would place the Read More

The bottom of the pump has a few rings of little teeth to catch debris so it doesn't get caught in the impeller. This works pretty well.

This is a good nozzle with a metal body and a brass valve. The spray is easy to adjust and the brass nozzle turns smoothly. The handle can be locked open and there is a brass adjustment nut on the back. This has a good spray and doesn't leak. It feels light weight and has a good grip. This is a good nozzle to use as a wash down hose or to water plants.
Pros: Durable, Functionality, easy to adjust spray, Light Weight

This is a good marker with a sharp chisel point. It writes well on many surfaces like metal or wood. It works on damp metal, but not really well. It's not much better than other markers on damp surfaces, the ink gets thin and hard to read. The marker point is wide and can handle rough surfaces without getting dull. The marker is a good size and easy to hold even with gloves.
          Pros: Durable
Cons: not great on damp surfaces

I have wanted a thermal camera for 15 years and this is the first time one has been within my price range. This works very well for troubleshooting electrical equipment and heat exchangers. You can see vessel levels, spots of poor insulation or drafts in your house. There are 3 options for color range and it can take pictures. This is a very economic thermal camera with good accuracy.
Like all thermal cameras it does not show you anything inside if the equipment is insulated and you just see a reflection if the metal is really shiny.
Pros: Easy to Use, good accuracy

No, I do not recommend this product.
This is a great idea and I thought it would be very useful, but it is harder to use than I would have thought. With a regular crescent wrench you want it to slip on and off the bolt head easily so you can reset the positioning and tighten again. By locking the wrench you can only tighten once or need the room to move the wrench 360 degrees. It's then a bit difficult to unlock and reset the wrench.
If the bolt head is stripped you're better off using channel locks or locking pliers.
          Cons: Difficult to Use

          Answer:
The discharge is 2" female pipe thread. It also comes with an adapter that is 1.5" female pipe thread. You need a hose or pipe that is 1.5" or 2" male pipe thread on the end to connect. Also include a check valve.
For electrical, it just plugs in, preferably to a GFI outlet.

How do you adjust the float

I bought a unit yesterday and installed. I have a 30" basin and this model was suggested. I ran the water to watch the pump operate and the water level gets to the inflow pipe level before turning on. Although there is no water backlash, I was wondering how and or if I can adjust the float to come on before the water level rises to the inflow pipe.

          Answer:
The float cord is clamped to the unit. It just hangs there so it's not adjustable. The water level needs to reach about 12" deep to start the pump and will pump it out to about 6" and then turn off.
