I’m a semi-retired I.T. technician and, while I try to leave the cabling jobs to the younger crowd, sometimes I get roped into running Ethernet cable to get a job completed.
One of the standard tools used to snake cable through insulation or conduit is a ‘fish stick’; Milwaukee’s new model 48-22-4155 is a very nice one. This kit can go up to 30’ in length (the thread-together pieces are 5’ long each). Other Milwaukee models have more reach, if your job requires a longer run.
The threads are reinforced and the whole kit comes with a limited lifetime warranty from Milwaukee, so there’s not much worry about defects in construction. The sticks offer knurling at the threaded connection to make assembly and disassembly easier.
The sticks are “glow in the dark”, which is a nice feature and are color coded by flexibility range (low, medium, and high - see photo below). This kit offers 4 low, 1 medium, and 1 high flexibility sticks along with a ‘bullet nose’ tip, a hook tip, and a whisk tip. The whole deal comes in a fabric case (a bit over 5’ long) which offers Velcro fasteners and a built-in zippered accessory pouch (see photo). Fit and finish of the sticks, accessories, and case is excellent. Other accessories are available from Milwaukee (all the Milwaukee fish stick bits and pieces are interchangeable) such as an LED tip and a magnetic chain tip. Those bits are not included with this kit.
In use it functions as a fish stick should. I’ve noticed no issues specific to this kit. The pieces have threaded together easily and have not come unintentionally undone. The 4155 has a solid feel to it. I was ‘on the fence’ about the fabric case (my other kits all have hard plastic containers to store the pieces in). I was concerned that being tossed about or shoved into a corner of my 4x4 would result in damage to the soft case or contents, but this hasn’t proven out in practice. I would like to see a zipper enclosure rather than Velcro but that’s just a matter of preference – the Velcro holds the case together just fine.

The Ortho Weed-B-Gon should be used using the instructions printed on the container label - proper personal protection is important.
Weed-B-Gon is one of my 'go to' products for the lawn; it kills crabgrass without damaging the surrounding grass. I've found it's best applied on a day when you're not going to mow the lawn. Since the product works through the leaves of the plant if you mow immediately after applying Weed-B-Gon the leaves may get chopped and thus the product doesn't get delivered through the roots. Applying after mowing leaves you with a smaller target - the crab grass has been trimmed with the lawn. YMMV.

I mix it up 1 gallon at a time and use in a 1 gallon plastic spray canister, cleaning out the canister with fresh water after the gallon of Weed-B-Gon mix is used up. I've had no problems with the product jamming my sprayer, even if I go a couple of weeks between cleanings.
This isn't for killing grass that comes up between pads on your driveway or walk - it's for riding yourself of weeds in the lawn. Be careful not to use on a windy day where the Weed-B-Gon may be blown onto flower beds. I have used the product around roses, but very, very carefully targeting only the leaves of the weeds.
I generally don't see much in the way of change in the weed before 24 hours or so are up, and 48 hours is a good rule-of-thumb to see the weed completely wilted.
It's much more economical than buying the pre-mixed version and I don't have to go to the Depot as often.
I'm a long time user of this product, and I've been pretty well satisfied by the results I get.

One of the most popular squares in Swanson’s tool lineup, the 6 in. Pocket Combination Square features CNC machined working surfaces for more reliable accuracy, 45-degree marks and 90-degree marks. The impact-resistant acrylic level vial out-performs less durable tube-type vials. This 6 in. workhorse also acts as a depth gauge.

This review is for the Swanson model TC130 combination square. The TC130 comes with a 1-year warranty from Swanson and a 90-day return warranty from Home Depot.
The stainless-steel straight edge piece of the square is 6” long and measured in increments of centimeters, 1/32 of an inch, 1/8 of an inch, and 1/16 of an inch. It’s secured by a brass knurled knob.
There’s a steel scribe that fits into the housing of the square, also using a brass knurled knob to secure it. The scribe is threaded into the housing, so there’s no worry of it slipping out and being lost.
An acrylic bubble level is incorporated into the housing; the level is not removable, but the securing fitting is brass. Read More

Overall this is a well built square, with fit and finish good (mine has a couple of paint flecks missing from the housing and the black paint has uneven edges at the corners. Of course this is cosmetic, not affecting the functionality of the tool. The machining of the tool is very good.
Movement of the straight edge in the square’s slide groove is smooth and solid.
The increments on the straight edge are easily read.
I’m finding that this little square is just the right size for carrying in a small belt pouch (I’m using the Milwaukee model 48-22-8118. See photo below – I removed everything but the Swanson square to show the fit). Great for a quick check of level or for scribing a straight line in wood, and it’s small enough that it doesn’t get in the way.
Overall I’m quite pleased with this little gadget and expect it to get quite a bit of use in the garage and shed.

Industrial settings create industrial levels of grease on machinery and surfaces. Pros know that the powerful solvents in Industrial Purple Degreaser and Cleaner quickly dissolve grease. This shop grade formula makes quick work of small jobs.

First – read the warnings on the label. It’s not for all surfaces and materials and calls for safety precautions such as gloves and eye protection. I use a breathing mask as well if there’s any chance of inhaling the spray. It’s a powerful degreaser and deserves respect.
I’m using it primarily in the garage, although I’ve used it on the unpainted parts of my mower to get rid of gunk as well. Spray it on, wait a minute, and wipe it off. Unfortunately, it’s not “paint friendly” so using it to degrease your garage door or car door hinges aren’t great ideas.

Using rubber gloves and eye protection, I’ve sprayed the Zep purple on a cloth and then used the cloth to wipe down my tools after a job – it does a nice job of removing grease and grime. Followed up with a quick wipe down with a clean shop rag and the tools are ready to put back in the box.
Zep purple isn’t a ‘one step solution’ to degreasing everything but it’s a great addition to the small box of cleaners and lubricants that I keep handy in the garage.

This review is for the Milwaukee Sawzall model 48-00-1788 (“Torch”) blades. It’s important to note the model number because Milwaukee has a variety of Sawzall blades. The 1788 comes in a 10-pack and is designed for cutting medium metal (1/8” to 5/16” thick).
The Sawzall style blades do not have to be used in a Milwaukee saw – I mounted a 1788 blade on a Ryobi reciprocating saw with no problems at all.
The blades are made in the USA (see photo) and are 9” long (including the tang part which is held inside the saw).

I had a couple of old metal trellises that I’ve been meaning to cut up and discard - normally a job for my Milwaukee angle grinder with a cutting blade mounted, but since I had the new “Torch” blades in hand I couldn’t resist trying one out.
The 1788 almost went through that metal tubing in shorter time than it did for me to put a new battery in the saw and insert the blade. (Hearing, face, and hand protection are always a must when doing this kind of chore, of course). I’ve a photo below of the used saw blade and one section of the cut tubing, but it doesn’t reflect how easily the new blade cut through the metal.
Being a semi-retired I.T. tech and a homeowner/DIY’er, I can’t really comment on the longevity of the blade – I don’t have any deck or cabling jobs on hand that require me to spend a long time with the reciprocating saw. But other than the paint rubbed off of the blade where it went through the metal the 1788 shows no sign of wear after my testing this morning (see photo).
The blades come in a plastic blister pack; there’s no case for storage of the spare blades once the pack is opened. However, if you mix them up with other blades no worries – Milwaukee has labeled each blade with “Torch” in letters large enough that they’ll probably be visible after a lot of blade wear. That’ll make it easier to grab the right blade for the job.

The MG-600 will sharpen your knife sharp so you dont have to throw away your dull knives. Re-profile the blade to restore the bevel, which extends cutlery life up to 10 times. The MILWAUKEE M18 REDLITHIUM HIGH OUTPUT XC8.0 Battery Pack provides 50% more power and runs 50% cooler vs M18 REDLITHIUM XC battery packs. The optimized combination of smaller size and increased power of the 18-volt battery provides a great solution for the entire range of M18 products. The lithium-ion battery delivers fade-free power and runs substantially cooler through heavy applications, allowing trade professionals to push their cordless tools throughout a wide application range. Answer:
At the rear of the stapler there's a small tab (see photo). You push in and down on that, and then you can pull out the spring loader (see photo).

MASTERLOCK 1-1/2 in. Laminated Steel Warded Padlock (4-Pack)
The Master Lock Co. Steel Padlocks (4-Pack) are made of steel for maximum strength and durability. These 1-1/2 in. wide laminated steel body, warded padlocks feature a warded locking mechanism that minimizes jamming from dirt and grime. The 1/4 in. diameter, 1 in. long steel shackle provides strong cut resistance.
