After getting the 15 inch version of this wrench a little while back I was really impressed with the quality of the tool. I really like the precision of the fit on these Milwaukee adjustable wrenches. So I got the other sizes as well replacing a selection of older crescent wrenches I had in my box. These are machined precisely enough that there is almost no slop when you set them. Thus the action on them during adjustment is smooth as well. They move around extremely little once set. I can't say zero but it is close enough to it for my use. And this makes the guides that every one has useful too since they are accurate enough that the size on the guide is meaningful and not just some vague Read More

These are definitely a step up from my trusty older ones. Those have served OK for years but these will be easier to use. The trouble with the old ones was due to the slop in the fit you were always loosening to get it off then tightening after going on the nut or bolt head. Without that slop that's less hassle and time and aggravation saved. All in all these are some pretty nice adjustable wrenches. Read Less

The MILWAUKEE M18 REDLITHIUM XC5.0 Starter Kit delivers up to 2.5X more runtime, 20% more power and 2X more recharges than standard lithium-ion batteries. The lithium-ion battery pack features superior pack construction, electronics, and performance providing users more work per charge and more work over pack life than any battery on the market. The rechargeable battery also delivers users with 5.0 amp-hours of runtime. Each battery pack is durably built for heavy-duty use, runs cooler, and performs in climates below 0°F/-18°C. This protection routes water away from the electronics and out of the battery pack, extends the users' battery run-time and life by minimizing heat, and prevents pack failures from vibration or drops. Built-in REDLINK Intelligence protects the battery from overloads, preventing users from damaging their cordless power tools in heavy-duty situations, while the discharge protection prevents cell damage. An integrated temperature management system and individual cell monitoring help to maximize battery life. Switch to Milwaukee's REDLITHIUM XC5.0 Battery Pack to instantly upgrade the runtime and durability of Milwaukee M18 cordless tools. In addition to the battery pack, the starter kit includes an M18 & M12 Battery Charger.

Milwaukee builds some well made tools from what I've seen lately in my purchases and this kit is no exception. Seems like a lot for a charger and one battery but the battery charges fast and the tools are very well built. I got this to pair with the 1/2" impact wrench. The batteries are noticeably more compact than my older 18V set (which is porter cable)(see picture for comparison of sizes). This would be good if you were lugging it around all day on the job, One thing I like about the batteries is the gauge built into the battery so you can do a quick check on the charge without having to put it on the charger (which is the only way to check the charge on my older 18V tools) It's nice that Read More

But it fits nicely in the top compartment along with my other charger and batteries. I'll probably pick up one of the high demand batteries later but this one will do me for a starter. Read Less

The Channellock 12 in. Straight Jaw Tongue and Groove Pliers are constructed with high-carbon C1080 steel. The tool is fashioned with laser heat-treated teeth that clamp down perpendicularly for strong, nonslip jaw action. Undercut tongue-and-groove fabrication allows this heavy-duty tool to perform without slipping, giving users the confidence to impart maximum torque and leverage aided by the comfort and command of the ubiquitous CHANNELLOCK BLUE grips. The patented PermaLock fastener eliminates bolt and nut failure in any of the 7 adjustable jaw settings, supplying utmost strength to loosen and tighten threaded hardware up to 2-1/4 in. in addition to other fastening and crimping tasks.

When it comes to tools that hit a wide variety of uses that a wrench or regular pliers just won't cover if you have some channel locks and vice grips you've got a lot of bases covered. These channel lock brand pliers are pretty good build quality for my use. I've had a smaller pair of great neck ones for over 30 years and I've reached for them many times and they've taken a lot. Looking at the quality of these I expect the same from them while being able to cover things the smaller ones just won't do. The fit and finish is better than my older ones in terms of the precision in the fit.
Pros: Durable, Sturdy, good quality steel, versatile

I got this hammer because I needed a replacement for my 30 year old sledge on which the handle was wearing down. When I saw the head on it with the flared out end I really liked that. This is just the opposite of the way my old sledge is made on the end as it has the typical narrowing at the end. The bigger end to me means it is a little harder for me to hit a glancing blow. You can see the comparison in one of the pictures I posted. I'm no longer in the business where I use one of these every day as I was in my youth but I still have a need regularly and the main job I got it for is for the hundred or so form pins I drive every year when I'm putting out my Light-O-Rama Christmas light Read More

This is just at the weight where I can choke up on it and drive a form pin with one hand. It's right at the limit for my aging frame on what I can handle with one hand. I might could have gone with a 6 for this job but I wanted the try the 8 since the 6 I have is a bit light for some jobs. I'm thinking it will ease my form pin driving experience when it comes time this year to put them out. I get a little tired toward the end of driving that many pins and of course I get less accurate as I tire so that bigger head may help then. This kind of work gets a lot harder as you get OLDer. So I'll take help in any form I can get it. Read Less

My reason for getting this was that during some recent projects I kept having a need for a level of this length and did not have one on hand. I could have sworn I used to have one but all searching was fruitless. I had a 1 ft level (useless) and a couple 4ft levels. This is a very heavy duty and solid built level. The glass is well protected with a solid block of tough clear plastic material rather than having the glass exposed as they are on some levels (like some of the ones I already had) This is a solid tool with some quality to it. I have a couple scaffolds in my storage building and I can just slap this on the scaffold and it is right there when I need it. The markings on it are bold and clear and the bubbles easy to see. That is good when your eyes are going like mine these days. I was not too sure about the blue at first because none of the levels I've had before used that color but it is actually pretty easy on the eyes. I'm just a do it yourself homeowner who uses tools now mostly for projects around the house and on my house but I grew up in a large family of carpenters (12 uncles, several cousins, my father, my brother and myself were all carpenters back in my youth) and I did carpenter work from age 13 to 22 (apartment complexes & houses). I see this as more the grade of level we would have typically had on the job where we used it day in and day out. The glass mounting looks a lot like the old heavy wooden ones we used way back then 35 years ago (seems like almost everything was built heavier back then) I'm sure you can buy more expensive ones but I think these would hold up to a lot of use if cared for reasonably. Does it come in other sizes ? I've been using the 12 inch one for about 6 months now and am very happy with the way it cooks and how well it is holding up to practically daily use. I would not mind buying a couple smaller ones as well like say a 10 inch and an 8 inch.

I don't really have much of a question just an amusing observation to pass along and since you can't modify reviews here it is.
I put this up a week ago and it is indeed really nice - large, solid, well finished and easy to open and close. Piece of cake to mount.
Today I had a post-it note left in the box with the days mail from the mail carrier lady. It said she loves this box !
It was kind of funny to see and I'm glad she likes it too. Obviously she appreciates a smooth opening and closing box.
I guess if you have to open and close them all day that would not go unnoticed. some certainly require more effort.

To make this a question and thus kosher to put here I ask the populace...
Has anyone else had a compliment from the mail carrier ?
          I'm just curious.
