In the soldering industry, the name Weller carries a lot of weight. Carl Weller patented the first hand-soldering tool to heat and cool rapidly in 1941. Over the years, manufacturers of many types of products from televisions to washing machines came to rely on Weller for its quality and reliability.

I’ve got a few electric soldering irons and I’ve been using them a long time. But I’d looked at a few of the butane ones recently and was considering giving one a try. When I saw this Weller one I figured I could not go wrong with a Weller since I’m familiar with the quality of their products. And this was no exception. I bought some fuel and loaded it up. It’s very easy to fuel and the window on the side makes it easy to see when it is full. I really like the quickness with which it gets hot. You just don’t get tht kind of instantaneous with an electric. And I can see there being occasions it will be nice being able to solder without having to pull power to where I am doing it. I love it. A great bundle that offers our one and only original Speed Square and the Big 12 Square. Both are constructed of heavy gauge aluminum and made to last. These are essential items for any carpenters toolbox.

I’ve been using these squares for about 40 years now. And I have to say I think these are still about as good as any out there. You can get some others that have good features like being lighter and maybe made out of something that does not get as hot in the sun. But if you want a solid square that is really easy to read these are still the best. I used to have great vision but these days my eyes are not the best. I found these to be the easiest to read by far. I really like the etched numbers that are very bold with the black markings. The Milwaukee 7 in. Magnetic Rafter Square has a stronger frame and is the most versatile rafter square. The rafter layout square features 3 rare earth magnets providing users with a secure hold on ferrous materials. Scribe notches from 1 in. to 6 in. enable users to easily and accurately rip lumber. A 1 in. cutout in the rafter square provides users with a way to prop pipe to cut it more easily on the job site. A reinforced frame provides users with more durability on the job site while high visibility laser etched markings make the square easier to read.

These are decent squares and the material is light while the finish is good and the writing easy to read. I don’t think the red anodized finish gets as hot as say the swanson squares with the raw finish. But to my old eyes they require a little more effort to read. Of course they fit the saw well. One thing I noticed out of the box is the welds at the blade joints. You can’t beat these Milwaukee hole saws for being tough. The white paint job is funny because some of it invariably rubs off on the first use. But I could care less as long as it cuts well and these do. I have a full range of sizes and this 6 inch was a nice addition to the set. I’ve cut a variety of materials with them from 2x6’s and the like to light steel and they done the job well. This will likely not see the tougher materials since that is not what I had in mind for it but should the need arise I have no doubt it will do the job just as well as the other hole dozer saws I have.
Pros: holds sharpness well, easy to knock out the cut

I don't really have much of a question just an amusing observation to pass along and since you can't modify reviews here it is.
I put this up a week ago and it is indeed really nice - large, solid, well finished and easy to open and close. Piece of cake to mount.
Today I had a post-it note left in the box with the days mail from the mail carrier lady. It said she loves this box !
It was kind of funny to see and I'm glad she likes it too. Obviously she appreciates a smooth opening and closing box.

EnviroLite wrap lights are the perfect solution for commercial lighting needs. These light fixtures are designed to save energy and lower maintenance costs. The integrated LED light engine included uses 30% less power to produce the same amount of light as fluorescent fixtures. Because it's LED, you will never hear the hum that fluorescent fixtures make. This ceiling mounted commercial wraparound provides bright white (4,000K CCT) light at 9,500 lumens. EnviroLite uses quality LED chips that last for 50,000 hours of continuous use; once installed, this light fixture will last for 34 years when in use 4 hours per day. This LED wrap comes with a 5 year manufacturer warranty, is ETL listed and can be installed in damp locations. This LED fixture from EnviroLite is perfect for general purpose lighting in garages, workshops, kitchens, utility rooms/spaces and corridors in commercial and residential environments.

Unlike a lot of these fixtures with integrated LED lights these have the appearance of being basicaly a retrofit of the old style fixtures. By that I mean the metal is about the same guage and has the same 2 inch knockouts in the same traditional places as the older flourescent fixtures. The casing looked a lot like my old lights down to the wrap around diffuser. This works out very well if you are replacing an old light because it makes them basically a drop in replacement. You have some choices on mounting. You can try to hit a truss or you can just use some mounting anchors. The ones that come with it are not great so you might want heavier ones. I happened to already have some heavier ones on hand that I used and they worked very well. I have no worries now about it falling. So I did not bother trying to hit a truss at both ends and just used the existing mounting holes in the light base rather than drill some at truss locations. To do that I just drilled a hole a bit smaller than the anchor and hammered the anchor into the drywall getting a very tight fit. I used some pan head screws and pre-started the screws at one end allowing me to slide it on those so one end was held while I worked the other end. If you try to pre-start the screws at both ends at once it can be hard to get everything to line up perfect. Doing one end then the other gives you more flexibility. (I put 2 of these up alone in a garage with 12 ft ceilings and did not struggle or strain.) After they are mounted you can always drill a hole and put a screw through into a truss for extra safety if you feel the need. I consdiered doing that but in the end opted not to because it was extremely solid with just the anchors I used. (again, I used heavy duty anchors) In terms of the wiring they wire just like any other fixture. If I recall they did come with the wago type wire nuts (push-in style) instead of the old traditional ones making connections easier. I had a 3-way switch so there were a few more wires to deal with than on simpler switch. But if I recall the wire nuts had enough positions to deal with the extra wires. The connections are color coded just like other light fixtures so the connections to be made will typically be obvious - especially if you are just replacing an old fixture. Just note how the old one was wired or better yet take a picture if in doubt and you can look back. Of course turn off the breaker before beginning work. All this stuff is covered in the instructions they come with. It's not hard. The only hard part is holding them overhead while marking where the anchors need to go. It helps to have 2 people for that job. I used a scaffold and a tool handle as a jack to hold one end while I did held the other. It can be done alone. It just requires a little more thinking ahead. You could also make a cardboard template of the base to get your anchors prepared if you do not want to hold up the light and mark the screw locations. I've had these up the better part of a year now and they are great. It was like installing a small sun in my garage. It was a little work swapping them out but worth it. Read Less
