This lightweight, convenient tool holds up to 10 sockets and features ball bearings on socket tags to hold sockets in place, preventing them from getting misplaced. It is color-coded by drive size for improved organization.

nice rail for the money- wish it came with more clips (yes, even if that meant raising the price a tad. so what)

These are not perfect but for the price I think they are a decent deal. I much prefer them to the old metal ones I had. I wish the store had more because I still need a few more and I got all they had in 1/4 and 3/8 sizes. Next time they get some in or I'm near another store I'll grab a few more.
The main gripe I have is that they only come with 10 holders. This is not enough for most applications and you end up buying an extra just to get the extra clips. The clips pop off easy for transfer to another rail. And the 1/4 and 3/8 clips are the same width. This worked out well as I had this one odd set of sockets that had some of both that I wanted to keep together on the same rail.

I saw these the other day when I stopped by the store to pick up some socket rails. I just happened to stroll by the boxes for a look after grabbing my rails and these caught my eye. A closer inspection showed a heavy and solid built unit. When I saw the price I figured that was just for the bottom half. the way it was labeled it seemed ambiguous at a glance - though had I looked closer I would have noted it was for the set. That evening I logged online and did some double checking and saw that it was for the set. Nice. When I saw the price I figured that was just for the bottom half. the way it was labeled it seemed ambiguous at a glance - though had I looked closer I would have noted it was for the set. That evening I logged online and did some double checking and saw that it was for the set. Nice. I've been looking at boxes off and on for a while with a thought to get something bigger than the smaller ol Homack I had. Seeing this I looked around and bit and confirmed what I was pretty sure of - this was a good deal for a box of this quality. It competes strongly with cheaper built boxes.
I like that it has a small footprint because I have a lot of other junk in the area it went in and did not really feel like dedicating the floorspace for a 46 inch unit. This one held all the hand tools I have anyway with the exception of some power tools and nail guns I have stored in old roll around fabricated steel box. Assembly was very easy. I bought an unassembled one because I thought it would make it easier to get out of the truck with just me and one other guy when I got home. I was glad I went that way even though the pre assembled units were tempting as the store had 4 already assembled. Had I taken my covered trailer I would have just done that. But I think assembly was easier than the extra effort of hooking up and hauling around the trailer. The heavier box was a tad under 200 lbs so 2 guys can set it out of a truck bed reasonably easily. I did not want to find out if setting a fully assembled unit in and out of the truck was going to be a pain. (Hey, I'm getting old now)
The casters are very large and heavy duty. The unit rolls around very easily once assembled.
The one gripe I have is that the casters cannot be rotated 90 degrees. I would have mounted both of the swiveling ones on the front had that been practical. But this would have left the 2 fixed ones sideways to the direction I needed it to roll. Fact is though I don't tend to move a box around a lot. I only rolled my smaller one out one time last year when I was removing and reinstalling the seats in a car and it seemed like I was having to run back and forth constantly to grab the right tool. So the caster thing is a small gripe. If I moved it more it would be a bigger one but I don't.

I got this with one thing in particular in mind - having a wrench big enough for use on things like swapping out the ball on my trailer hitch. I had a 1/2" drive 1.5 inch socket I used for that but it is not real deep and bottoms out before I get things cinched up as much as I want. This is more the ticket and easy enough to just keep in the truck. I had a number of crescent wrenches of assorted sizes from 12" down. The 12" I had would not open enough for what I needed so ended up grabbing a monkey wrench or just settling for how tight I could get it with the socket. This is a better quality tool than the others I had and it opens plenty wide for the nut on a trailer hitch ball. The Read More

This is a better quality tool than the others I had and it opens plenty wide for the nut on a trailer hitch ball. The machining is more precise and there is very little of that slop that you see in cheaper wrenches that are machined to looser tolerances. That makes it easier to use because you know how those are with the slop. If you leave it loose enough it don't bind then they can slip. But if you tighten them down all the way they bind and you have to work more to get them loose for the next turn. I see that being far less an issue with these Milwaukee wrenches. The play in the one I got is almost non-existent. The quality is great. I think I may have to obtain some more Milwaukee stuff. I'm going tomorrow to buy one of the Milwaukee toolboxes after looking at them in the store the other day. Seems like they make some pretty well built products from what I've seen. Read Less

I got this and the 2.5 inch version of it to give a try and see which of them (if either) I would prefer as something to carry routinely. I fully expected to prefer the smaller one but after going back and forth truing them both I keep going back to this one as my preference. It's noticeably easier to open and close than the smaller version without being that much heavier. It's not as light as the old bucklite I had been carrying lately but it is plenty light enough to be comfortable. I don't usually use belt clips but this one has just the right amount of grip being easy to slide on and off without being too loose or too tight. So I'm a belt clip convert on this one. I think it stacks up reasonably well against some more expensive knives. I think I'll be carrying this one for a good while. Read Less

For as cheap as they are they are a good deal given the quality which I thought was pretty decent. Like everyone else I thought they should come with more holders. So I bought extra just to get the holders. But again since they are so cheap that is not so bad. It does make them not quite as good a deal of course but it still averages out OK. I do like them better than the old 30 year old junk metal ones I have. Unfortunately this means I now need some more. Like a lot of small purchases they are going to cost me a lot more before it is over because while I was there I looked at those heavy milwaukee toolboxes they have for a really good deal and now I've got to have me one of those since Read More

Like a lot of small purchases they are going to cost me a lot more before it is over because while I was there I looked at those heavy milwaukee toolboxes they have for a really good deal and now I've got to have me one of those since I've caught the organizing bug and my old small roll around box looks so sad. Doing this little bit of organizing reminded me me how small and crowded my existing box is since it will not hold all my socket sets and the wrenches are in a big pile in a drawer due to being overfull. So yup, these are nice but once you start organizing realize it can be hard to stop at something small like this. But hey, that new toolbox will go well with these organizers. Of course I'll need more organizers for the new box since it is bigger and I have more sockets and tools scattered about in assorted toolboxes. Where does it end ?. Today I bought all the 3/8 the store had (they only had 5 in stock) That was a pretty paltry number to keep in stock. They had more of the metal ones and those are fine but they take up more room for the given number of sockets stored. So that means an order of course. And I should have got some 1/4" for my my small bit of 1/4 loose stuff. Of course this may be an interim solution and I may switch to the peg type that have size labels on them. Yep, organizing can just get out of hand fast. Read Less

I don't really have much of a question just an amusing observation to pass along and since you can't modify reviews here it is.
I put this up a week ago and it is indeed really nice - large, solid, well finished and easy to open and close. Piece of cake to mount.
Today I had a post-it note left in the box with the days mail from the mail carrier lady. It said she loves this box !
It was kind of funny to see and I'm glad she likes it too. Obviously she appreciates a smooth opening and closing box.
I guess if you have to open and close them all day that would not go unnoticed. some certainly require more effort.

To make this a question and thus kosher to put here I ask the populace...
Has anyone else had a compliment from the mail carrier ?
          I'm just curious.
