The LG Electronics 14,000 BTU Portable Air Conditioner with Remote features a dehumidifier that removes up to 3.4 pints of moisture from the air per hour. Equipped with casters that allow for easy movement to the spaces that need chilling, this portable AC unit also includes a remote control for easy temperature, fan speed and timer adjustments from across the room. The quiet machine (58 dBA) boasts two-way up/down air deflection that circulates air evenly to eliminate hot spots, providing ample airflow to cool spaces up to 500 sq. ft. Note: the freestanding unit must stay upright for 24 hours before use, must be vented to the outside (window installation kit included with detailed instructions) and cannot be used with extension cords.

No, I do not recommend this product.
Good stuff: I loved the design of this unit and that it looked great with my black bedroom furniture - not visually invasive like the big white monsters on the market. And this unit has the advantage that it WILL cool if you turn it down to 60.... it doesn't matter if it's over cast or if the room is already 60. Great for someone like me who is always hot - many ac units will only cool the room down to 69 degrees or so no matter how low you turn it and they won't come on if it's overcast. But that's the good stuff
Bad stuff: when this ac is new and it actually works it makes this HORRIBLE shudder as it comes on. Every. time. That's a HORRIBLE shudder every 7-10 minutes right next to the Read More

Bad stuff: when this ac is new and it actually works it makes this HORRIBLE shudder as it comes on. Every. time. That's a HORRIBLE shudder every 7-10 minutes right next to the bed while trying to sleep.... it's way worse than any window unit I've ever had and worse than portable ac units I've seen at friend's houses. It's not the kind of sound/vibration I could get used to - and believe me, I tried. Ok, so now you're wearing earphones as you sleep and at least you're happy that your bedroom is now, literally, a refrigerator. Seriously, you could store meat in there while you sleep flash forward to halfway through the summer during a heat wave and you wake up SOAKING wet because this ac units drain hole is clogged and it is now vomiting water all over the room while you sleep. Great. Youtube yourself the solution - it wasn't too difficult it just required finding this units 22 well hidden screws and totally dismantling it, drilling a larger drain hole and putting it back together again. Back to frosty cool happiness... flash forward to halfway through the next season when the ac compressor is coming on but for some reason you're not getting any cold air at all. You try to convince yourself it's all in your head, its actually working but maybe you just have a fever? After all, how could this ac only last through one and a half summers? oh, and btw, this is the second unit I've had - the first one had to be carried down the 5 flights of stairs I live up and returned to home depot because it didn't work right out of the box. Same problem - compressor came on but wouldn't cool. And in addition made some HORRIBLE buzzing noise any time it ran. Read Less
Pros: Easy to Install, Good Size & Weight, Looks Great, Nice Design, Stylish, really deep freezes the room even on overcast days
Cons: Not Durable, spits water after a little bit of use

First, it's a nice shelf and I don't think other people will have a problem with the inaccuracy of the listed measurement - BUT - I had gotten it for a tight space up above the foot of the staircase and the listed measurement was just a smidge under the exact measurement that would have fit. When it got here it was more like 36 1/8 instead of 35.4. Since it was being wedged between two walls I was able to trim it to fit so I'm happy though. If you need to trim it - it's hollow inside which makes it easy. Also, just fyi - the packaging indicates that it will support 15 lbs
overall it's a good shelf for what I needed
